Traveling Through Life

COVER
The Southern part of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
The mighty Zambezi River roars over a mile
width until its final 420 foot fall down in to the narrow chasm
making Victoria Falls the biggest waterfalls in Africa.

JANUARY
The first sunbeam. The Great Himalayas, Kingdom of Nepal.
Making its way from behind the mountains,
the first sunburst gilded the edge of the highest peak of the ridge,
announcing the beginning of a new day.

FEBRUARY
Cliffs in winter. Utah, USA.
Harsh and remote, the snow-capped cliffs create
the unparalleled beauty of this landscape.
Such an area provides a multitude of similar photo
opportunities.
MARCH
Sunset over the Northern Enylchek Glacier, Central Asia.
Purple twilight falls on the gorge over which
the most magnificent glacier of Tien Shan Mountains glides.
The sun hiding behind a ridge paints the sky in the hues of gold and red.
Within five or ten minutes this huge massif will be swallowed by
an opaque darkness.
APRIL
The Bryce Canyon. Utah, USA.
A strange landscape of unearthly appearance opens from
an upper viewpoint of the Bryce Canyon.
The snow is unable to stay on the bare rock,
and the crumbling slopes reveal the towers
of red-yellow sandstone.
MAY
The Northern part of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.
The mighty Zambezi River roars over a two mile
width until its final 370 foot fall down in to the narrow chasm
making Victoria Falls the biggest waterfalls in Africa.
JUNE
A lake in Pokhara, Kingdom of Nepal.
White ibises settle down for a night rest in one of the most beautiful places of Nepal.
A golden-peachy sunset colors the faraway mountains where beyond the skyline,
the majestic and proud Mt. Annapurna, mother of the southern part of the Himalayas,
is hiding.
JULY
Evening on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia.
A bay surrounding a tiny Ampana harbor is the center
of a fishermen's life on the Sulawesi Island.
Here the massive boats are being made of a local red wood
without the use of a single nail.
AUGUST
A pink evening over the Gulf of Mexico.
The coral-colored froth laps against the sandy shore.
Clouds are carried away by a weakening wind. Sunset is coming.
SEPTEMBER
Evening theme. Western Tien Shan, Kirghiz Republic.
An evening in Bakombay canyon is one
of the most beautiful experiences in the world.
However, within several years, this beauty will be gone forever,
destroyed by human avidity.
OCTOBER
Autumn sunset in a birch grove creates a special mood. Siberia, Russia.
White slim birches stand close together drowned in a blue mist,
with a golden disk of the cold and dim sun failing to lighten the trunks.
NOVEMBER
The first snow. Western Tien Shan, Central Asia.
One of the most magnificent places of the West Tien Shan,
the Chichkan River, flows down through the Ala-Bel pass.
A sudden heavy snowfall allowed the photographer
to immortalize the artwork of a genius master - Mother Nature.
DECEMBER
Summit of Mt. Khan Tangry at Sunset, Kirghiz Republic.
To take this picture a photographer had to bring the heavy
equipment close to the very top of the mountain
to a height exceeding 16 thousand feet above sea level,
and to spend a cold and restless night in a tiny tent.
